1. Before the National High School Exam: Steady rowing – Overcoming the waves

At home
– Have a plan for the last days. Definitely have a plan.
– You can ask relatives to remind you to get up for school on time.
– Post the plan in the most visible place, where you are most likely to be present.
– Know how to check yourself after each lesson and each chapter.
– Subjects that have practice exercises must have time to do the exercises on their own.
– Don’t hide your ignorance, be ready to ask your teacher, friend, brother, sister, father, mother or people who are capable and reputable in the field in question.
– Do not arbitrarily truncate the review section according to regulations. Don’t comfort yourself and then easily ignore and miss things.
– Read the practice test questions provided by the school/teacher or downloaded from admission websites. Read, solve and do the problems no less than twice.
– You must pay attention to theories and classic knowledge, without theory you cannot solve exercises.
– Eat in moderation, with enough nutrients. Do not use stimulants. Trying to increase nutrients with clean and safe foods such as packaged canned milk, fresh fruits, cooked and boiled is still the best solution.
– Do not think about using documents or asking others for help when taking the exam.
– Do not believe in rumors about leaking and selling lottery numbers.
– Master contact information with friends and teachers.

Prepare necessary study materials to bring into the exam room

Before the exam day, candidates should prepare all the study materials allowed to bring into the exam room. Specifically, Article 14 of the High School Graduation Exam Regulations issued with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDĐT, amended by Circular 02/2024/TT-BGDDT (hereinafter referred to as the High School Graduation Exam Regulations) applies to candidates. You are allowed to bring into the exam room the following items:

• Pen
• Ruler
• Pencil
• Pencil eraser
• Eke
• Graph ruler
• Drawing tools
• The handheld computer has no text editing function and no memory card
• Vietnam Geography Atlas compiled according to the 2006 general education curriculum (without marking or writing any other content)

Note: Candidates are absolutely not allowed to bring into the exam room the following prohibited items:

Carbon paper, alcoholic beverages
Documents, communication devices (receiving, transmitting information, recording audio, video) or containing information to cheat during the test.

Before exam day:
– Need to review a type of knowledge system 1 or 2 days before the exam.
– Do not focus on studying the night before the exam or until you reach the exam room door. It will make you stressed, your mind will fall into a blank state leading to loss of calm and panic, some of you may have a stroke due to psychological pressure.
– Spend the last 1 or 2 days for light entertainment such as going out, listening to music, watching TV…
– If you take the exam away from home, you should try to schedule at least 1 day before the exam to get used to the environment, eating and traveling. You should find a motel 1-2 km from school for convenience, of course the closer the better.

2. In the National High School Exam: Strong psychology – High score

Prepare before each exam:
– Put all necessary documents: exam notice, ID card, etc. in a clear shirt envelope, put it in a visible place, easy to see or ask Mom or Dad to keep it for you. magical memory for you (can make an additional notarized copy for backup).

– Water can help you fight thirst and regain composure; Chocolate has a stimulating effect, uplifting your mood and increasing your ability to concentrate. So bring a bottle of mineral water, some chocolate with all labels removed, and put it in a clean, clear nylon bag.
– Arrive 30 minutes early – a magical time that helps you feel more relaxed and this is also the time that can best handle unexpected incidents.
– You should have a watch.
– Absolutely not bringing mobile phones into the exam area is the safest solution.
– Deep breathing will help you dispel anxiety and nervousness before entering the exam room.

During the exam
– Check your full name, date of birth, year of birth, place of birth…. Report immediately to the exam supervisor if there are any errors.
– Look carefully in the desk drawer and around your seat to see if there are any documents.

– Don’t be hasty, read the exam carefully before taking it.
– Have a strategy of what to do first, do it later “easy first, hard later, too difficult to ignore, if time gives, do it again”. Confident and decisive.
– If a sentence is related to the following sentence, you must check it again before continuing.
– You are not allowed to miss questions on the test.

– Absolutely cannot and should not write: “see more”, “more”.
– You should write down the answer and conclusion after each small sentence.
– Do not discuss and do not expect help in the exam room.
– Don’t scare yourself because: glasses don’t make a scholar. Recording too much is not necessarily right, recording early is not necessarily good. Do not submit assignments early. Do not arbitrarily end the assignment when there is still time left. Review your work many times.
– Know how to stop at the right time to review what you have done.
– Do not black out the omitted part. Do not frame or annotate anything strange.
– Check personal information on the exam, number of sheets, write completely before submitting, and sign properly. Pay attention to the advice of the Examination Council.
– Ask the exam invigilator to sign and write full name on the exam (if missing).

After each exam
– Don’t be pessimistic or give up because you fail at a certain subject. Do not use a sad mood to replace a submitted exam.
– After each exam, you should go home, eat, and shower to restart your health and spirit for the new exam.

3. After the National High School Exam: Choose the right major – Bright future

After finishing the exam and knowing the test score, candidates need to do the following:

File an appeal (if necessary)

According to the Plan to prepare and organize the 2024 high school graduation exam in Appendix I attached to Official Dispatch 1277/BGDDT-QLCL dated March 22, 2024, the time to announce the 2024 high school graduation exam scores will be at 8 am. hour 00 on July 17, 2024.

And starting from July 17 to July 26, 2024, appeal applications will be accepted and a list of appeals will be drawn up.

At the same time, Clause 1, Article 33 of the Regulations issued together with Circular 15/2020/TT-BGDDT stipulates that all candidates have the right to have their exam re-examined; Candidates submit the application for re-examination at the place of registration for the exam.

Thus, if you find that your test score is not as expected, candidates need to file an appeal application and submit it at the test location where they registered to take the exam. The time to submit the appeal application will be from July 17 to the end of July 26. July 2024.

According to many years of experience, in order for candidates to have more chances of being admitted, candidates need to pay attention to:
* If candidates are admitted to the top universities above: Polytechnic University, City University of Economics. HCM, University of Technical Education, University of Natural Sciences, University of Pedagogy,… candidates who want to be considered for admission should have an admission score that is at least 2 points higher than the prescribed threshold of the schools.
For example: Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics. HCM announced that the admission score threshold for the Business Administration major is 25 points. Candidates with scores of 27 (same admission block) or higher should apply for admission.

* If candidates are admitted to the top 2 universities: Saigon University; Ton Duc Thang University; Open University; University of Finance and Marketing,… candidates who want to be considered for admission should have an admission score that is at least 1 point higher than the school’s prescribed threshold score.
